Rates and transcription style

I charge £1.00 per audio minute for a clear recording with no more than two speakers.

For that price I’ll produce an intelligently transcribed and coherent piece of writing which means I’ll take out all the ‘ums’, ‘ers’, repetitions, false starts and hesitations that people naturally include when speaking but which don’t make sense when written down on paper.

So, you’ll receive something that looks like this:

“I think there are some freelancers who are really happy to be off on their own and not engaged. I think with freelancers the key thing is that if you pay us on time then you can divide us into two categories. There are the ones who, if paid on time, are just happy to be on their own doing their thing [? 00:54]. And then there are the other ones who actually want to be part of the group.”

Rather than something that looks like this:

“Urm, ok, well, I think there are many… I think there are some freelancers who are really happy to be off on their own and not really, you know, not really engaged. Urm, and I think with freelancers the key thing is that if you pay us on time then you can divide us into two categories. Urm, there are the ones who… well there are the ones who if paid on time are just happy to be on their own doing their thing, you know [? 00:54]. And then there are the other ones who actually do… urm, who actually want to be part of the group, you know.”

Please note, if you have recordings that have more than two people speaking or which have complex jargon or thick non-British accents then the price will be higher as they’ll take longer to transcribe. I will always confirm a price with you before starting any work.
